At last it came....

Just in time to buy one self a x-mas gift, and a really nice and needy one as well.

I won' go too much in depth with the album itself as I think you all have different opinions on this matter, but just say, that it has a very BIG chance in the Euro scene of today...

I don't like the fact that there are LIVE tracks on the album, but that's how it is... I just burned a copy of the album and left them out, so that matter was fast sorted out :o)))

However - a very BIG and happy Merry X-mas and happy new New Years to you all in this 2001/2002.

Best regards from the webmaster of www.oldfield.dk
and also very big e-type-fanatic

I can see a big reaction there, ATL!

This is the first time I read the message, so I wasn't able to react earlier, I'm sorry for not being online 24/7!!!

Also... I'm sick and tired of the subject! the last thread with this had over 300 views, so I'm sure everyone knows by now that I really do not tolerate burning cd's. And I could see it in Posh's message that he has also read it.

So will you forgive me, ATL, for not starting a fight again? I'd like to have peace for even a few days during the xmas time! and it has NOTHING to do with the fact that Posh used to work on the site! I don't think he should burn it any more than anyone else should!

And to Posh.. the "live in Dreamland" are not livetracks, they only have a cheering audience in the beginning and the end.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone who will allow it to be that!

...ahem... well...
This is NOT picking a fight, but it seems that someone here thinks that is is in fact illegal to burn CDs, and it isn't. The matter is, that there is something called "The Fair Use Doctrin". The "Fair Use Doctrin" makes it L E G A L for you to burn a copy of a CD you've bought, so that you can have it in the car, the boat, the outhouse, at the misstress or whatever. It IS however illegal to burn CDs to others if they do not have an original themselves, but as this one I burned was for my own and personal use, there's no violations there. Also, if A.T.L has one, and he wants a copy of it, and can't make it himself - ad he asks ME to make him on, that is NOT illegal as well. As long as you have bought the original, you are allowed to make 1million copies if you'd like... BUT.. for YOUR OWN personal use - NOT others.
Most of the fights going on everywhere on this topic, starts because of 2 things:

1: the copyright laws are't the same everywhere
2: most fans haven't sat down and read these laws carefully enough, and have some misunderstood idea that copying is illegal in itself, while it's not.

So... you you wanna take a chunk at me ATL, be my guest, but DO NOT do it inhere, as this is a civilized forum... You are welcome to e-mail me privately on your thoughts, as well as anyone else here - but do not start flaming anyone here.

If you should so desire - and this is even as I'm no longer member of this crew - I will personally kick your butt if no one else does.
All you are after is a fight - you never fail at that, so people tend to get so f****** tired of you - you haven't learned the fine art to agree to disagree as many other have here.

So.. all in all, no one has to be sorry that they weren't here when my post was added, as nothing illegal has gone on here - at all.
Go ahead and read the manifests on the copyright in your part of town before you start argumenting for rules and laws you do not know to the full extend.

Yes, I know it is legal to burn a copy to one's personal use if one has bought the original.

Maybe I didn't read your mail carefully enough, since I didn't realise you had the original.

Posh, if you've read the thread "Where to go buy albums" then you know what the discussion has been about.

I don't judge burning a copy to oneself, since that's totally acceptable. The burning I don't tolerate, is burning the CD's from illegal MP3's.

So I'm sorry if someone misunderstood.

And Posh, really great to hear from you again!! How's the fam?? Waiting for the Santa Claus...?

Anyway, Merry Christmas to all of you!!

Well excuse me, ATL, if I ruined your day by talking to Posh about Santa Claus! I do know it's not a worldwide tradition, but is it really my fault?? MOST of the western (=Christian) world do have him in in some form in the tradition. Like Denmark, for example! (but ofcourse they don't call him in his English name! :P )

I don't care about the Dutch tradition, it's all the same to me if you have Santa Claus or sinterklaas or whatever, I'm sure they all have got their "picture" from St- Nikolaus, the Bishop of MYRA!

So there's even a bigger note to you!!!

Whoever from St. Nikolaus's "offspring" you find the nearest... Santa Claus is the only term in English I know for that, so...

Anyway, I wish everyone a merry Christmas, even though _someone_ seems to be unhappy with it!

Hey, ATL! What's wrong? Santa Claus is not everywhere, so? I think even if some nations don't use Santa to make kids obey in impatient wait for the presents, then it won't hurt them to adopt this tradition. It's not like you change your religion or smth. Santa is a fascinating character! You get presents, and presents are always great. (Yesss, precioussss, we likes presentsesss). Just everything about him is kind, and mind, my favorite part is that his helpers are ELVES!!! (and I'm crazy bout elves).

In Russia we have Ded Moroz (Grandda Frost), and he gives us presents on New Year's Eve, but he's just like Santa.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!! And Happy New Year!!!

WE've got SINTERKLAAS ... he is NOT the same as SANTA CLAUS! The American people have the SANTA CLAUS person "taken over" from us!
SANTA CLAUS has nothing to do with Christmas!
And I am sure that if you would get so many presents in a year ... that you wouldn't be happy anymore to get those presents! Think about poor kids, and in poor countries! Maybe it would be better if we would give all our presents to them! I guess that such a thing can make you much more happy then get presents! What is more beautifull then to see a child happy ?????? Tell me!

And ... what I said ... SANTA CLAUS has nothing to do with CHRISTMAS! I guess you know that!
The CHRISTMAS THREE is something from the old natives which lived in EUROPE many many centuries ago!
Questions about that?! Just ask me! I have read things about that, just because I am interested in those kind of old things/traditions!

See ya later!

This conversation has crossed the border between E-type -related and NON- E-type -related, so you can read my answer at the other forum.

I hope you will read it, especially ATL.

But for Flasher T, I'm happy you got EuroIVEver by now. I hope you like it :)
